Name: Claire Burgess
Job Title: Broadcast Account Executive
Three years working in PR and a year specialising in broadcast PR.
Day to Day:
Selling in stories for Radio Days and setting up TV appearances and interviews. Brainstorming ideas for future campaigns and generally a helping hand throughout the day.
Love travelling to other countries for extended city breaks and experiencing the culture. Love the ‘occasional drink’ or two, three, four, five ….with friends.
How many TV series I have watched in bed. I don’t think I’d admit even at gun point! Also infamously eating peanut butter out the jar at work. But really I have no shame
Name: Abigail Cramp
Job Title: Online Manager
Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Abigail left her hometown in 2014 to further her career in London. Having previously worked in print media, marketing and events, she stumbled into the world of broadcast PR and instantly fell in love with digital media, particularly being a cog in the wheel of producing high quality video content that is both newsworthy and on brand.
Having helped place and develop content for high profile brands and major events she has also collaborated with top tier media on their own video projects. Abigail’s experience is a series of never having the same day twice.
Day to Day:
Being online manager means Abigail makes sure content gets the coverage it deserves, being part of video development from the very beginning right until it’s on your desktop.
Liaising with the media on a daily basis, brainstorming new ideas, constantly researching current trends she makes sure she is always up to speed on what works for online.
A fitness fanatic, writer and adventurer you will find Abigail either at the gym , marathon training, , spin instructing, blogging or exploring all the wonders of London and European cities. And drinking tea.
Old movies, a good book or anything carb based or covered in cheese and she’s a happy girl. Oh and let’s not forget her love of puns.
Name: Sinead Gilgunn
Job Title: Account Manager
Up until this September, I worked as a TV producer on The One Show, BBC1. Prior to joining the team I worked across all the major broadcasters on shows such as Would I Lie To You?, Don’t Tell the Bride, and Sunday Brunch.
Day to Day:
Because of my experience I get to see a press release and work out what can be done to it to make it TV worthy. After that, it’s what shows would take it. Can it be adapted accordingly? How could work on The One Show but be adapted for This Morning. As well as that, I also jump on the phones and sell-in to radio shows.
I’ve been learning Spanish for two years so I can mainly be found with my head in a text book or trying to understand what they bejesus Shakira is banging on about. I love travelling so try and pop my backpack on every year for some exploring. Also love mooching about vintage shops, chilling in coffee shops and cooking.
Baked Camembert. All to myself. For dinner.
Name: Bella Foxwell
Job Title: Creative Copywriter
Bella joined NDN after working as a social media copywriter for nearly two years. Her passion for reading and writing started at a young age and was cemented at university, where she studied English Literature. Her dissertation, which focussed on the food writing of MFK Fisher, reflects her other love: food!
Day to Day:
Bella spends her time brainstorming newsworthy headlines and stories, writing and editing press releases, crafting surveys and putting together social strategies for clients. Oh, and making lots of tea!
Bella is a huge fan of exploring the beautiful spots the UK has to offer, photographing the prettiest London doors and eating good food.
Salt and vinegar crisps and dairy milk eaten at the same time.
Name: Courtney Smith
Job Title: Senior Account Manager
Courtney joined News Data Network three months ago after working at a number of high-profile Public Relations agencies for the past 8 years in both Melbourne and London. With a degree in Public Relations and Marketing, media, communications and brand awareness is where her heart lies.
Having worked across a number of high profile FMCG brands in traditional public relations, Courtney decided to have a change and move her focus to a broadcast environment, to further her skill set as well as giving herself a full 360 perspective of the media landscape from print, digital through to broadcast.
Day to Day:
Courtney works directly with the account directors who are bringing in the business! On a daily basis she works as client liaison – ensuring that key messages and creative aspects are adhered to in the broadcast asset development stages, and the overseeing the team to ensure that a broadcast schedule that lives up to and exceeds client expectations.
Courtney really enjoys the fast-paced nature of the broadcast media and loves it when a client is impressed with the work that has been done by the brilliant team of people that she works with.
Courtney loves Friday nights, and having a glass of wine whilst trying out as many new restaurants in London as she can. Courtney’s life in London revolves around eating as much as she can, whilst attempting to experience at least one ‘cultural’ activity on the weekend. Also getting away on weekends as much as possible is high on the agenda.
Being obsessed with steak and eating too much of it. Pop music and old rock is a pleasure, but she doesn’t feel guilty about it.
Name: Cassandra O'Donnell
Job Title: Broadcast Manager
I’ve side stepped from TV to PR. Up until recently, I had been working in the television industry for over ten years in the UK and Ireland; on everything from Graham Norton to the likes of Loose Women, This Morning and Lorraine.
Day to Day:
Thanks to all this time working in telly, I have a strong “news sense”; having been on the receiving end of thousands of press releases, I know what journalists want, and know what constitutes a good sell in and an effective campaign.
I’ll either be on Instagram, cooking, or in charity shops and car boot sales scouring for vintage home wares.

Name: Jamie Stanley
Job Title: Head of Content
Jamie joined NDN in January 2015 after working as a journalist, copywriter and social media manager. Since gaining his MA from the University of Sheffield and moving to London, he has worked in a variety of editorial and commercial realms, from sports reporting to interior design. Along with overseeing content writing and editing, he also looks after our social media channels and helps keep our creative juices flowing.
He revels in his status as the News Data Network’s northern cultural ambassador.
Day to Day:
As Head of Content, Jamie is responsible for making sure all our written content is perfect when it leaves the office. He ensures that there isn’t a comma out of place, that press releases are clear and engaging and that everyone’s happy.
Jamie’s favourite part of working at NDN is brainstorming ideas with the rest of the team and coming up with exciting, engaging content and angles. His background in blogging, newswriting and social media mean that he just loves telling stories, or as he puts it: “talking to interesting people about interesting things”.
Jamie is a massive football fan and, for his sins, has followed Middlesbrough FC around the country since he was seven. His love of music, particularly the Arctic Monkeys, has inspired a decade-long love-affair with drumming, percussion and just generally hitting things in a controlled environment. He is also a keen cook, theatre-goer, beer buff and a huge fan of Chicago sports teams.
Food: Despite a growing obsession with street food and craft beer, Jamie’s northern roots mean he’s not one for food snobbery and has been known to frequent the less glamorous takeaway restaurants of North London. Give the man a scotch egg and a bottle of chilli sauce and he’s happy as Larry.
Name: Stuart Iain Buchanan
Job Title: Content and Production Assistant
Stuart joined NDN with over two years’ experience as a local radio and newspaper journalist in his hometown of Corby, Northamptonshire.
His passion for broadcast was built on time spent studying Journalism as an undergraduate and at Master’s level at Sunderland and Lincoln Universities, respectively. During his time there, he worked with both university stations and developed a passion for all things radio.
Having gone to university with the (teenage) dream of being a music journalist, Stuart’s favourite part of his course was definitely the radio side. The ability to communicate with so many people at one time has always been one of his main reasons for following the radio pathway.
Having previously worked as a Sports Journalist for both Extra Newspapers in Northamptonshire and Corby Radio, Stuart also acted as co-presenter/producer on their weekly four hour Saturday Sports show and a solo presenter on his own weekly ‘Alternative music’ show.
Day to Day:
Being able to tell the best parts of any story we handle and develop that into useable, exciting and interesting content for our contacts that rely on this development.
Stuart loves being part of the content creation process, being able to secure coverage on some of the top radio stations across the country is always at the forefront of his targets. As a keen radio-listener, he enjoys providing top-quality content to the best outlets.
Music, TV and film play a big part in Stuart’s free-time. Favourites include ‘Foo Fighters’, ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Almost Famous’. Unsurprisingly as an ex-sports journalist, Stuart’s love of Glasgow Rangers and Sunderland AFC borders on the obsessive.
Stuart’s guilty pleasures include most things bands from the 70s/80s. (FREEBIRD!)
